The usual route is an overnight bus, limousine van or private transfer from Hanoi to Ha Giang City before beginning the mountain loop.

Getting around

Most travellers join the loop by motorbike, private jeep or easy-rider tour. Distances are longer than they look because roads are winding and high-altitude.
